CSIET's Local Action Network Initiative
During the course of the past several years, policy issues have surfaced at the state and local levels that affect the international youth exchange community. These and other state-level issues have encouraged CSIET members to focus more attention on policy and legislative debates at the state and local levels. Accordingly, CSIET has implemented a LAN Initiative (local action network) that would monitor future and current state-level legislation issues nationwide and respond accordingly. In situations where an issue arises, a LAN is formed that would comprise of CSIET members that currently place exchange students in that area. This ad hoc committee would research the matter, develop an action plan, and encourage wider support of CSIET membership to affect the final outcome.
