CSIET Standards & Program Accountability

The CSIET Long-Term, Inbound & Outbound Standards apply to for-profit and not-for-profit programs, conducting academic semester and year-long exchange programs for high school students.

In response to the increased compliance oversight and regulatory enforcement activity by the U.S. Department of State, CSIET has revamped its evaluation process and only accepts complaints regarding parts of CSIET Standards that are not part of U.S. Federal Regulation (22 CFR 62.25). These specifically include athletic participation/eligibility issues, promotional materials, or outbound programs from the United States. If your concern does not include these program areas, you may wish to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of State.

CSIET does accept complaints regarding its F-1 and Outbound certified programs.  We do not accept anonymous complaints.  If requested, we will refrain from revealing the source of the complaint, unless doing so is necessary for the resolution of the issue.

Note: CSIET does not intervene on behalf of complainants for the purpose of conflict resolution.
